Overview

Idaho has areas that are quality enough to merit a visit to nearly any part of the state with the exception of some of the remote desert areas.  The Sawtooths, City of Rocks, Boise region and recently some of the best quality bouldering in the known universe has been explored.  Even North Idaho has some truly remarkable hidden alpine crags like Chimney Rock. Sumer in parts of Idaho can be cruly hot.  Areas like Hells Canyon have extreme temperatures but areas like the Sawtooths can offer cooler mountain climates in summer.
North Idaho offers some small bouldering areas around Coeur D’ Alene and Post Falls has some fun little sport crags in a city park. Boise offers one of the larger concentrations of climbing located around the city are bouldering and sport crags that are not to be missed.  Without question City of Rocks is one of the best climbing destinations in the country.  Visit Idaho and you won’t be disappointed.

One of the best kept secrets about Idaho is that the bouldering in the Sawtooths is some of the most perfect stone on the planet. Sure there are great little spots around Boise and City of Rocks is a word class destination, but Idaho has hidden areas that are incredible. North Idaho also has more lesser known gems too. High walls near the northern Idaho and Montana border host superb alpine route with many first ascents still possible.
