Overview

Most climbers flock to Salt Lake City and others like to boulder in Joe’s Valley but Utah has climbing in many corners of the state and in between.  The big walls of Zion draw climbers from worldwide to visit its steep aid and trad walls. The desert towers also bring climbers from all over America and beyond.  Moab is also a worldwide destination and Little Cottonwood Canyon has some of the cleanest granite cracks and boulder problems in the known universe. You can climb in Utah year round and it is pleasant many months.  The desert is extremely hot in the summer so much of the state is beastly hot to climb in during summer months but you can flee to the mountains to take refuge in the cool canyons and hills

Utah is a state that is always worthy of a climbing trip.  many climbers take winter vacations here to climb areas like Moab.  The state has a very large desert that allows the climbing season to stretch long into months that climbing would not be possible in other parts of the world.  Bouldering is also a very big draw in Utah.  Areas like Joe’s Valley, and Little Cottonwood Canyon have some of the best bouldering anyplace. Utah is not just for skiers; if you climb, you need to visit Utah in your lifetime.
